Sunday 9th June - Mulhouse to Kembs

We made an appointment to be at the one and only lock today at 10.30 a.m.  When we arrived, there was a problem - two boats were in the lock, going our way but they didn’t seem to be moving down at all.  Another boat was in front of us, waiting to lock through too - they moved their boat to the side and let a lady off, who came to tell us what happened.  The boat at the back of the lock had somehow got stuck on the concrete sill and ended up at a 45 degree angle, taking in water.  The Pompiers arrived, presumably to pump their bilges out.  Needless to say this meant a long wait for us now - not a good start to the day!!
