We left at 10.45 on another lovely day, if a little bit chilly first thing. The scenery was still very beautiful - the towns are very attractive too, very neat and picturesque. The river was busier than yesterday with quite a few ferries moving up and down, picking up and dropping off people here and there.
We were followed by two German boats, one of which soon overtook us. As we neared our one and only lock of the day, the other boat, which bad been lingering
behind us, suddenly revved up and overtook us too........presumably to make sure he got into the lock! There was no problem as there was plenty of room.
We arrived at the port around two o'clock but by the time we managed to call the harbour mistress to ask for two berths and got ourselves settled, it was after three! So a very late lunch!
We arranged to meet in the on site restaurant for dinner as our berths were a long way from each other. The men ordered trout which they declared to be not bad but Crews' pizza was not so good unfortunately.
An episode of Vera, then bed.
27 km 2 locks
